Pink Sky Featured Traveler - September

The featured traveler for the month of September is Micha Davis! Micha is a member of my Facebook group and she has attended a few of our in person events. Micha a 15 year Navy veteran and Licensed Mental Health Clinician with a huge love for travel! She’s also an avid reader, gym rat, hobby baker, journaler, mom to one of most awesome kids that a parent could ever have, and proud business owner of Mindful Matters Counseling and Diagnostic Center. I caught up with Micha to ask her a few questions about her travels!

To date, what’s been your favorite travel destination? What about this destination makes it your favorite?

I've been fortunate enough to have gone to many different countries cities, and states. All were beautiful, and I've never had any bad experiences. But, when I think of my most favorite travel destination, it's hard to choose any one place that I've gone to and my son wasn't there with me. Within the next year, I'll be an empty nester, so the value of time spent and experiences seem to weigh a bit different with me these days. That being said, I'd have to choose my favorite travel destination as being Sint Marten. My son and I had such a great time there and made so many beautiful memories that will last us both a lifetime

What do you love most about travel? What is your favorite thing about traveling?

What I love most about travel is experiencing new cultures, new food, and learning about the history of new places.

Name something positive that you took away from your last travel adventure?

As I write this. I'm currently on a family vacation. So far, a positive takeaway has been valuing the art of flexibility and adaptability! Traveling with multiple people and managing multiple personalities can be hard. This becomes a lot less frustrating when you're flexible, open, and adaptable to changes as they happen. A detour from your scheduled plan doesn't have to mean a ruined trip. It can simply be an altered plan trip that will ends with a great time being had by all

Tell me about your favorite vacation picture and why it’s your favorite.

My favorite vacation pic is one of my son and I on a Rhino Speedboat while in St Marteen. We're both thrill seekers, so crashing waves in the open waters at 50mph was an absolute blast and exciting rush of adrenaline.

Which destination is currently at the top of your travel bucket list? What intrigues you about this destination?

Although, I've been before, a trip to Africa is currently at the top of my travel list. I'd like to see different countries while I'm there and I'm super intrigued at the thought of staying in a outdoor lodging resort and going on a true African safari.
