To date, what’s been your favorite travel destination? What about this destination makes it your favorite?
My favorite destination was Ghana. I truly felt like i was home with my people. Everyone was so friendly and kind. Never had a welcome like that and I have been to other African countries like Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Nigeria, and The Gambia.
What do you love most about travel? What is your favorite thing about traveling?
Learning, I stopped listening to what I see on TV and visit for myself and learn first hand about a country. I am such a history buff.
Name something positive that you took away from your last travel adventure?
Don't let you size hinder you from anything. As a plus size person..everyone was saying I wouldn't be able to do the glass bottom kayak pictures as most companies weight limit is 250. Well i did my research and found a very popular company who's weight limiti was up to 420 lbs ( that isnt my weight..lol). Let me tell you the guys was so helpful and got me and those pictures together!
Tell me about your favorite vacation picture and why it’s your favorite.
My favorite picture is in front of Giza in Egypt. As a kid in school, in world geography class my teacher talked about the Pyramids and from yhat day I dreamed of going. I went 2 years ago and I cried at the Pyramids as it took me back to childhood and that class. I was like I finally made it.I truly learned so much on that trip to Egypt.
Which destination is currently at the top of your travel bucket list? What intrigues you about this destination?
Tibet. The history, the Himalayas, it is known as the Roof of the World, the Dalai Lama had a home here. I have read about The Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, walk down Barkhor Street, Mount Kailash, visit the different Monasteries, experience the Tibet Railway, and the food.
Thank you so much, Sy for sharing your travels with us!! Here are a few of her pictures from her various travel experiences.
